Teeth Whitening

Most dental patients today are interested in having a brighter whiter smile. Continual exposure to tea, coffee, red wine, curry, soy sauce, cigarette smoke and ageing in general contribute to stained and yellowing teeth.

Tooth whitening is a safe, non-invasive method of improving the colour of your teeth without having to remove tooth structure. The procedures are simple and effective and with the correct maintenance, results can last indefinitely.

Take Home Whitening

For some, being able to whiten their teeth in the comfort of their own home is the perfect solution. At Belconnen Smiles we offer a whitening package which allows just that.

We create custom-fitted mouthguards that are used as trays in which the whitening gel is placed. You will be provided with the correct amount of gel along with instructions to witness the amazing change to your teeth.

The whitening mouthguards are normally worn for 1-4 hours once a day. This whitening treatment will take around 10 - 30 days to complete with the results gradually changing over that time. Sometimes the trays can be worn overnight on the advice of the dentist.

Glenelg Dental Centre tips for a whiter smile

1. Smoking is not only bad for your health but will stain your teeth.

2. Limit your intake of red wine and coffee as these are both strongly associated with staining, as are foods such as liquorice.

3. Regular visits to Glenelg Dental Centre will allow your dentist to clean your teeth thoroughly, reducing the amount of staining on a regular basis.
